Many people think that "Mocha" refers to coffee with chocolate, but in fact, historically, it was a real place, an ancient port on the Red Sea called Mocha. Around the 15th century, Yemen was the first country in the world to cultivate coffee on a large scale. At that time, all beans transported to Europe and Turkey had to be gathered and loaded onto ships at the port of Mocha. To prove their origin, the burlap sacks were stamped with the large word MOCHA on them, and over time, people began to collectively refer to the coffee exported during that era as Mocha beans. Although that prosperous port has long been abandoned, the name has stubbornly remained, a romantic tribute from coffee lovers to that era of great voyages.
