Blended coffee beans are essentially the roaster's signature dish; you won't find the exact same blend anywhere else, and they best reveal the soul of a coffee shop. Creating a blended coffee is the result of the roaster breaking down and recombining several single-origin beans. Unlike single-origin beans which highlight the strong personality of a particular region, the roaster must temper the "temperaments" of several single-origin beans, harmonizing and smoothing them through roasting. Blended beans are like a painting with negative space; you won't taste a straightforward fruit or nutty aroma in them. Instead, they present an overall sense of balance.
