✏️ References
Addisu Kidane is a coffee farmer from Halo Beriti in the Gedeb district of southern Ethiopia. Growing up in a coffee family, he later took over the family farm and has long focused on cultivating high-altitude native coffee varieties. His coffee cherries are mainly processed at the Halo Beriti processing station, where strict ripeness selection and grading develop a flavour profile marked by cleanliness, distinct sweetness, and prominent floral and fruity notes. Halo Beriti itself is not a single farm but an important regional production and processing system located in Gedeb, serving thousands of smallholder farmers nearby. They produce specialty coffees using various processing methods including washed and natural. Within this structure, Addisu Kidane’s name has become clearly recognized as one of the region’s representative individual producers, allowing the terroir of Halo Beriti to be fully expressed through micro-lot coffees from single farmers.
